The next stage in the pendulum installation. “Sway.” Brake system and lockout mounted on each pendulum. Brakes will automatically be applied if someone pushes the pendulums too hard. Lockout at night or if power goes out.
Finally received the end stop shock absorbers and they work like magic, absorbing all the momentum when the pendulums are pushed hard. Next up brakes, safety lockout, sails, seats, and padding. - - - #kineticsculpture #kineticart @publicartpa @paloa

Lifting poles into place for new public art installation at the new Junior Museum and Zoo. The poles pivot in the frame and will sway slowly back and forth through the opening in the roof as people ride the bottom. Still much to do. Dampers, brakes
